Also known as a co-employment or employee leasing, this relationship allows the employer to shift their employer burden to a third-party service provider. The business owner retains the
supervisory relationship with the employee while allowing the PEO to perform the administrative tasks associated with the employee.
The business still hires, fires and manages their employees, but the PEO retains the appropriate new hire documentation, secures workers' compensation coverage, issues paychecks, withholds employee

coverage on all hired employees. In addition to purchasing a policy, the employer is asked to comply with certificate requests, policy audits, premium payments and deposit requirements and is
required to provide claims administration should a worksite accident occur.
As part of the co-employer relationship, Trigon will serve as your workers' compensation administrator. They will assist in securing the work comp policy; handle claims, quarterly or monthly premium
reports, policy audits, certificate requests, loss run requests and deposit requirements.

Tax Compliance
Audits from state and federal agencies will be performed with Trigon, not with the client company due to our co-employment relationship.
One of the major threats to the employer is non-compliance with federal and state tax agencies. The improper handling of payroll taxes can and has resulted in heavy penalties, fines, interest and
prosecution for the business owner.
As part of the co-employer relationship, Trigon will deduct the proper federal and state taxes from the employee's paycheck and deposit the funds in a timely manner with the necessary agencies.
Both federal and state agencies require monthly, quarterly and/or annual returns. Our professional staff will ensure timely and accurate filing of all taxes.
